A rectangular block of plastic, measuring 1.56 cm by 1.36 cm by 2.02 cm, floats in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The volume of sea water displaced by the plastic block is 3.52 cm3. Assuming the density of the sea water is 1.025 g/mL, what is the density of the plastic?

Okay so, You take the density of the sea water 1.025 and multiply it by the volume of the displaced seawater 3.52. That will give you gram amount of water displaced by the block. This amount of displaced water is also the mass of the plastic block. So now that you have the mass of the plastic block, you take that and divide it by the volume of the block. The volume of the block is 1.56 times 1.36 times 2.02. that will give you the density of the plastic. You'll know if your math(and my instructions) are correct if that density you get is less than 1.025 g/mL since the block floats so it's less dense than water. Also i think that 1cm3 = 1mL
