Dyeing fabric dont know how need help!?
I have this 3/4 sleeve jacket ..like blazer type thing that you can wear over a tunic or something..but its not really like a blazer..its pretty thin feels like a t-shirt but like a thick t-shirt its 98% cotton and 2% lyrca spandex? Well its sorta a charcoal gray and i wanted to dye it black...cuz i want it black....i already took off the buttons cuz i plan to sew new ones on that i bought..but i was wondering is it possible to dye ..im thinking u can its not bulky its a really casual jacket no shoulder pads or anything ..but i have no idea if its possible i dont wanna like mess it up .If i cant dye it ill just leave it ....any help would be great on if i can dye it or not, what dyes I can use where to get them thanks!
Just get dye from your local craft store and follow the directions based on the material. It isn't very hard but probably won't come out like if it was dyed orginally black. Warning though you have to wash it after and it may leave dye in your washer and dryer so do an extra rince cycle after you take it out of the washer and wipe down the inside of your dryer so you don't get it on other clothes.
