What penalty should I expect to receive for not wearing a bicycle helmet?
A caution perhaps? or a fine?
What I got were young, 2 aggressive young police officers telling me I had an attitude and a stand off situation. I inadvertently left my helmet on a park bench and was made to walk my bike home. Their behaviour was a disgrace to themselves as well as the uniforms they were wearing. No wonder cops are sometimes described as "pigs"
You forgot to mention whether or not you were an adult. If you are a minor, then some state laws decree that you must wear a helmet whenever you are riding a bicycle. And that's probably a good idea. I know that where I live (California), adults are not currently required to wear a helmet when riding a bicycle, Is it different where you live?
