How can I photograph a glossy photo?
Whenever I try to use my digital camera to photograph a glossy photograph (such as an old family photo) theres a glare of myself or my camera on the image itself. I don't use a flash when I take photos like this.
Any ideas on how I could avoid this problem using my digital camera?
Have you tried putting it behind matte glass? That should cut down some of the glare. I have done it before with a clock that a friend of mine had. There was no way to scan it due to the movement. I tilted the clock down a bit to negate any glare from the fluorescent lights and shot a little bit longer exposure at the upward angle perpendicular to the photo. It came out really well. You may have to affix the photo onto something to be able to lean it forward effectively.
