Getting Mypay fixed with POA?
My fiance is in the Marine Corps and he is currently in Iraq. His MyPay pin and password got reset. I need access to his account to make sure that he is being paid correctly and I eventually need to get his W2's at tax time. I have power of attorney but there is no way I can prove that over the phone when I talk to someone. How can I get this fixed. Thank you
Finance in the military does not take general POAs you need a specific POA for DFAS. Your husband can get an apt with JAG on his post and mail you one. (we had too) Then you need make an apt with finance or a lot of them have walk in days and take your original. If you are not were you can get onto post then ask your husband to send you two certified copies and mail one to them.
That's the legal way to do it. I had problems with one of our banks not accepting POA so I just called and pretended to be him, I know everything there is to know about him, and he didn't have the time to waste on their BS while he's deployed. But that was about paying off a car loan not the DFAS system, I'd go through it legally if I were you.
