The decision to go to war in Iraq was flawed, banning the publication of the cabinet minutes is surely proof?

We've all known for years that the decision to go to war with Iraq was morally, ethically and legally wrong. By banning the minutes of the cabinet meeting that led to that decision being taken, all Jack Straw has done is prove that the government made the wrong decision, its now highly embarrassed and is hypocritical in thinking it should be able to hide from the freedom of information act that it brought in.

I had no faith in Tony Blair's government and now even less in Gordon Brown's. When are they going to learn that we do now live in an era where transparency is expected and anything less stinks of something fishy going on? They need to follow Obama's example of honesty and owning up when mistakes have been made.

Yes the fact that Straw has banned the publication does say it all.
So much for an open & accountable government with no need to hide information from the general public.
I admit it, I'm not really surprised, if I cast my mind back ( any one else can do the same ) & think again about b'liars body-language while standing with documents in his hand, asking for the house to grant leave to invade iraq.
He was almost dancing with fear, his face a shock of white & probably PANICKING dreading the implications of what will happen if they say no?
He KNEW the invasion was based on lies, propaganda & unproven links to 9/11.
BUT the americans were already in there......... he really thought he had no choice
well if that was the case produce the minutes & let us make up our own minds.
If they have nothing to hide why cloak history.
