Where in the economy metals spot prices to sell?

If you sell or scrap gold to a dealer you get a fraction of the spot price, which is not surprising since the metal must be shipped and melted and reprocessed and everyone in the chain must make money. And if you buy metal detail that you pay a premium over the spot price, which is still no surprise, since you pay for what value was added to the metal, like copper wire drawing or drawing a pretty picture on your investment piece gold. But even if I buy copper ingots supplier to the industry, they cost about $ 15 per pound, more than three times the cash price (and as expensive as copper an "art bar" bullion retail at Amazon.com.) I guess I have to pay a premium for someone just to do what ingot my disposal. But who sells metals to which * * the cash price?

I would expect to find these trades (contracts representing actual physical property) is going to trade products like the Chicago Merc. Places where there are futures contracts traded - sometimes it takes expect the material to be required on site by the buyer. Disclaimer: I'm speculating.
