Info on 25th Inf. Div operating in Thailand in 1962 & 1961.Were you there? Which unit.Can we communicate?
I was with the lst Artillery, 35th Cacti, Third Brigade, 25th Inf. Div. on a 90 day TDY mission. The 27th Wolfhounds were the first unit to spend 90 days TDY in Khrot. We were naturally from Schofield Barracks. Each reinforced battle group consisted of about 3000 personnel. I'm not dreaming. I was there. Since 2001 I have attempted to get information about the US military's participation in Thailand. Todate the National Personnel Records Center, The National Arachives and Records Administration and the U.S. Army Military History Institute refuse to admit that they have any records showing 25th Infantry Division presence in Thailand. I was a patient treated in the 31st Field Hospital and need records for VA or verification that I was atleast in Khrot during this period. Any info from anyone will greatly assist me in following-up. Thanks.
Why don't you post your question on some Thai boards. I was stationed in Asia in the 70's and my wife is from Khorat. My understanding is that the Records center had a major fire and lost alot of records in the late 60's. BTW my memory is of Khorat having USMC and AF.
Alot of former military now live in Udon Thani, Nong Khai and Khorat. try your post on pattayasecrets.com or other Thai board were Americans and ex military post.
